The Lowboy Electric Models offer the following features:
1. DOE Efficiency: All residential storage models with a capacity greater than 20 gallons meet or exceed the efficiency standards set by the Department of Energy, ASHRAE Standard 90.1 b (the current standard), and the recent amendment to the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act of 1987, which became effective on April 16, 2015. These standards supersede any state and local efficiency requirements.
2. Applications: Lowboy models are well-suited for installations where space is limited, making them ideal for compact spaces like closets or under counters.
3. Fully Automatic Controls: These models come equipped with fast-acting surface-mount thermostats for automatic temperature control. They also feature a factory-installed sensitive manual reset energy cut-off for safety to prevent overheating.
4. Direct Heat Transfer with Immersed Elements: These models efficiently transfer heat directly to the water using screw-in style immersed elements.
5. Factory-Installed Hydrojet Total Performance System: A cold water inlet sediment reducing device is factory-installed to prevent sediment build-up in the tank, increasing the first-hour delivery of hot water while minimizing temperature build-up in the tank.
6. Vitraglas Lining: Bradford White tanks are lined with a specially engineered enamel formula called Vitraglas, which offers superior protection against the corrosive effects of hot water. This lining is fused to the steel surface by firing at a temperature exceeding 1600°F (871°C).
7. Non-CFC Foam Insulation: The tank is covered with non-CFC foam insulation on the sides and top, reducing heat loss and resulting in less energy consumption, improved efficiency, and enhanced jacket rigidity.
8. Water Connections: 3/4" NPT factory-installed true dielectric fittings extend the water heater's life and simplify installation.
9. Factory-Installed Heat Traps: The design includes a flexible disk that reduces heat loss in piping and eliminates the potential for noise generation (except for RE120L).
10. Protective Magnesium Anode Rod: This rod is installed to provide additional protection against corrosion, ensuring long and trouble-free service.
11. Simultaneous and Non-Simultaneous Operation: These models are available in both simultaneous and non-simultaneous operation options. Simultaneous operation indicates that both elements (if equipped) are being heated at the same time, while non-simultaneous operation means that one element is heated at a time.
12. Voltages Available: These models are available in various voltages, including 120V, 208V, 240V, 277V, and 480V.
13. Single Phase or Three Phase Operation: For 120V and 277V models, they may be wired for single-phase operation.
14. T&P Relief Valve: A side T&P relief valve is installed as standard, with an optional top T&P location available.
15. Design Evaluation: The design of these models has been evaluated by ETL in accordance with Part 280.707(d) of HUD Mobile Home Construction and Safety Standards for Energy Efficiency.
